Introduction
The new-generation QABP series motor is a high-efficiency, frequency conversion-specific three-phase asynchronous motor developed by ABB for the Chinese market, designed to meet the growing demand for variable frequency speed control motors in China. The QABP motor employs high-grade corona-resistant composite enameled wire and utilizes ABB's proprietary frequency conversion control technology to enhance winding insulation and effectively address shaft current issues, significantly reducing winding and bearing failures. With a well-designed structure, the motor boasts outstanding mechanical and electrical performance, exceptional reliability and flexibility, and strong product derivation capabilities, enabling customized designs tailored to specific customer application requirements.
The QABP motor has an extremely wide range of applications, capable of meeting the speed control requirements for most industrial drive applications. It is widely used in industries such as papermaking, metallurgy, mining, lifting, wind turbine yaw systems, rubber and plastic, textiles, printing and packaging, food and beverage, chemical processing, water treatment, HVAC, and related mechanical equipment.
Insulation system
ABB employs F-class insulation materials with B-class temperature rise, which is a widely accepted standard in the industry today.
The adoption of Class F insulation systems with Class B temperature rise allows ABB products to achieve a safety margin of 25°C. This enables motors to operate under short-term overload conditions, at higher ambient temperatures and altitudes, or with greater voltage and frequency tolerances. This design also extends insulation lifespan—for instance, a 10K temperature reduction prolongs insulation life.
