What exactly has changed since Siemens changed its name from Siemens Motor?

Date:2026-03-23 14:35:14

I chatted with a friend who works in equipment industry the other day. He suddenly asked me, "Yinmengda, I've encountered this brand several times in recent bidding activities. It seems to be a new brand, but the technical parameters are quite familiar..."
I laughed, thinking, "Isn't this the old Siemens motor?".
He was taken aback for a moment: "Ah? It's renamed? Is the technology still from Siemens?"?
This question is probably on the minds of many people. Today, let's talk about this "new" brand - Innomotics, and see what its background is and whether its products are reliable.
one
Imanda is not a new company,
It is an independent brand spun off from Siemens.
Siemens has "married off" its motor and drive business, and the daughter has taken away all the family's belongings
Over 150 years of motor experience, more than 50 years of inverter technology, 14 factories worldwide, and the expertise of a large group of experienced German engineers.
In China, its predecessor was Siemens Electric (China) Co., Ltd., which established a factory in Yizheng, Jiangsu in 2006 and has been operating for nearly 20 years. In May 2024, it was officially renamed as Inductotherm Electric (China) Co., Ltd.
So, the Inventa motor you bought, its core technology, production team, and quality system are all from the original team of Siemens, with just a name change.
two
Electric motors may seem unassuming at first glance, but they account for 70% of the electricity bill in factories. Therefore, when choosing an electric motor, energy efficiency is of utmost importance.
Indmunda has a 1LE8005 series motor, which belongs to the national first-level energy efficiency (equivalent to IE5 ultra-high efficiency level).
It employs hybrid rotor technology - in simple terms, it involves mixing copper and aluminum in a certain proportion to make the rotor, which not only reduces costs but also significantly reduces energy loss inside the motor.
What kind of concept is that?
Assuming a motor runs for 20 hours a day, over the course of a year, the electricity savings from it compared to a regular Class 2 energy-efficient motor could buy several iPhones. (If you're not in the manufacturing industry, consider me talking nonsense, but factory owners understand.).
Moreover, this product boasts a high level of protection, featuring IP55 as the standard configuration (dustproof and waterproof). It can operate in outdoor settings, dusty workshops, and humid environments, eliminating the need for a shed. It can even function in the open air.
three
The biggest headache for many equipment manufacturers is that they buy motors from company A, gearboxes from company B, and frequency converters from company C. However, when they are assembled together, there is either excessive vibration here or overheating there. The back-and-forth disputes are very annoying.
Imunda has directly developed a full-service package - the SG series gearmotor, which integrates the motor, reducer, and frequency converter. It has been debugged before leaving the factory. You can use it directly after purchasing and connecting the wires. It starts rotating as soon as you open the box, eliminating the need for manual matching and adjustment.
It's like buying a computer. Building your own machine may be cheaper, but compatibility issues can drive you crazy; buying a branded machine is hassle-free and if it breaks, someone else will take responsibility.
four
Many foreign brands in China are merely assembly plants, importing core components and assembling them locally. However, Imonda stands out:
It has a factory in Yizheng, Jiangsu, with over 1,800 employees. 80% of its product lines have been locally produced.
It has also invested 600 million yuan to build a new base in Beichen, Tianjin, which is expected to commence production in the first quarter of this year. The new base specializes in high-voltage motors and gear reduction motors, and conducts synchronous research and development with the headquarters in Germany.
What does this mean? By purchasing an Inductotherm motor, you can enjoy both the technical standards and craftsmanship of the Germans, as well as the local supply speed and flexible service in China.
In a steel plant renovation project, when the equipment suddenly malfunctioned, the technical team from Inmunda successfully debugged the entire production line within just two weeks. The client was so moved that they almost presented a banner of honor.
It's hard for a purely imported brand to achieve such a response speed.
five
Nowadays, motors are not just "dumbly spinning",
It should also be capable of connecting to the internet and predicting faults.
The motor from Inmunda can transmit operational data to the cloud via sensors. The system analyzes indicators such as vibration and temperature, and proactively informs you, "I'm about to fail, it's time for maintenance," rather than waiting until it breaks down before repairing it.
This is like having tire pressure monitoring on a car, which means you don't have to wait for a tire to blow out before replacing it. For factories, reducing one unplanned downtime can potentially save hundreds of thousands or even millions of yuan.
The motor from Imonda,
It has long been embedded in many large projects.
Steel industry: Baowu Group and Rizhao Steel's blast furnace blowers and rolling mill production lines all incorporate its technology. A 40MW synchronous motor can save enough electricity in one year to power 850 households for the entire year.
Shipbuilding and offshore engineering: We just signed a contract with Jiesheng Marine at the end of last year to jointly develop a green and intelligent ship propulsion system. In the future, the "heart" of domestically produced offshore fishing vessels may rely on it.
Indmida still retains the essence of Siemens, combining German ingenuity with Chinese speed.
Next time you see Yinmengda in a bidding process, don't be confused. It's your familiar old friend, just wearing a new disguise.
