Siemens IE4 ultra-efficient motor products contribute to technological advancement in China's manufacturing industry

Siemens has launched the "Low-Voltage IE4 (International Energy Efficiency Level 4) Energy Efficiency Motor" in the Chinese market, which currently boasts the highest energy efficiency rating, aiming to facilitate the sustainable development of China's manufacturing industry through this product series. On the same day, Siemens also released its full line of Simotics FD low-voltage motors for the Chinese market.

The Siemens IE4 energy efficiency rated Simotics GP and Simotics SD series motors launched in China this time feature novel design, high efficiency and energy saving, and a wide range of power output, covering different products from general-purpose to heavy-duty types. These motors are 14% more efficient than IE1 level motors and 3% more efficient than IE3 level motors. According to calculations, the energy savings achieved by most IE4 energy efficiency rated motors within six months of operation can offset the cost of equipment procurement.

It is reported that the newly launched Simotics GP and Simotics SD series motors with IE4 energy efficiency rating share the same shaft height and installation dimensions as motors with IE1, IE2, and IE3 energy efficiency ratings. Customers can easily achieve energy-saving renovations in factories and systems without the need to adjust the mechanical equipment. Thanks to the modular design, the IE4 motors are easy to debug and install, perfectly integrating into fully integrated drive systems. The IE4 motors can operate directly on power supply or be connected to a frequency converter, satisfying customers' speed regulation needs while achieving maximum energy savings. They are suitable for applications in water treatment, chemical industry, mining, oil and gas, as well as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) fields; and can handle both harsh dust conditions and corrosive environments effectively.

The newly launched postpartum alternative, the Siemens Simotics FD series of low-voltage motors, boasts output power ranging from 200 kW to over 1600 kW and shaft heights from 315mm to 450mm. It has been optimized for operation with frequency converters, significantly enhancing energy efficiency, particularly under partial load conditions, where it demonstrates remarkable efficiency and energy saving. Due to its high power density, this series offers a smaller and more compact design for the same output power.

As a component of the Integrated Drive System (IDS), the combination of Simotics FD motors and Sinamics low-voltage frequency converters forms a low-noise, cost-effective, and comprehensive energy-saving system. Compared to the reference indicators of the IES2 system, its power loss is reduced by over 35%. The modular structure offers customers maximum flexibility, allowing them to choose between air cooling or water cooling, and self-ventilation or forced ventilation modes.
