In Davos, Switzerland, where the World Economic Forum is held, fast charging facilities for electric vehicles have become an important component of the local transportation ecosystem
The 2018 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting will be held in Davos from January 23rd to 26th. Davos has established a long-term partnership with ABB Electric to provide charging infrastructure for local public and private transportation.
Davos citizens and guests attending the World Economic Forum will be able to personally experience the groundbreaking TOSA (new type of trackless electric bus system) all electric buses. This highly acclaimed all electric bus was developed by ABB in Switzerland and is currently operating in Geneva, Switzerland. It will soon be put into operation in the French city of Nantes. The battery only takes 20 seconds to charge each time and can be completed during passenger boarding and disembarking. At Davos, TOSA fully electric buses will operate on the busy bus route 1, shuttling between tourist centers and hospitals. This is the first time that the TOSA electric bus system has been applied in high-altitude regions of the Alps. By operating under extreme winter weather conditions, ABB and project partners will gain valuable insights and experience.
In addition, ABB Electric has also built 8 new fast charging stations in Davos, where attendees driving electric vehicles can charge their vehicles.
Through these practical applications, TOSA fully electric buses and charging stations effectively demonstrate ABB's globally leading sustainable transportation technology.
